Frequently Asked Questions
What the heck is with the name of the brewery?
Well, the name comes from Sahale Peak, a mountain Owner and Brewer Matthew Hofmann climbed out in Washington State. The word means "falcon" or "a high place" and, while there are several acceptable ways to say it, we pronounce it sah-HA-LA (rhymes with koala).
What beers are currently on tap?
You can always find an up-to-date menu here.
Do you serve food (or anything besides beer)?
We do not serve food, but we love to support other local businesses and allow our guests to bring in their own food or have it delivered. We have John's Pizzeria right across our patio and they will deliver their full menu at no charge. We also have several other great restaurants within a couple blocks that you can order carry out from. Just ask our Beerslingers for options. Otherwise, guests can bring in their own food or snack, or order from a number of other area businesses for carry out or delivery. As for other beverages, we stock a selection of non-alcoholic beverages (root beer, lemonade and kombucha). By law we are not able to serve wine or spirits and we are not allowed to let you carry them in. We allow carry ins of non-alcoholic beverages, but strictly enforce bringing in of any alcoholic beverages of any kind. We appreciate your cooperation!
Do you sell/fill growlers?
We do not sell growlers and we generally prefer not to fill them since growlers are detrimental to beer quality. We do however sell 16 ounce cans to go. You can buy them individually or as as many as you’d like. The price would be the same as filling a growler or howler and you get more flexibility by being able to get several flavors instead of one. Here's an article about the many drawbacks of growlers that led to our decision to give up the growler.
Are you dog-friendly?
We love dogs and our space is dog-friendly! Well-behaved AND leashed dogs are always allowed on our patio and inside the taproom. Please be responsible with your pup so we can keep allowing them inside! Thanks!
Do you rent out the brewery or is it possible to reserve space at the brewery?
On Friday and Saturdays we unfortunately cannot accommodate most rentals/reservations. We welcome you to grab space on a first come, first serve basis if you would like to throw a party on those days (or any other normal business day). Let us know and we will do our best to accommodate as many of your needs as we can. Thursdays and Sundays, we have a number of reservation options, so contact us to see if we have an option that fits your needs. We are also available for events and parties on our non-business days. Again, contact us for details to see if it is the right fit.
Do you distribute your beer?
We self-distribute a very small amount of our beer. We brew everything on site in small batches. Our volume is limited and a vast majority of our beer is sold in our taproom. If you are interested in purchasing kegs/cans for wholesale, contact us through the website and we will be happy to discuss if we have any stock available.
Can you donate beer to our event/fundraiser?
While we love to support causes we care about and be as helpful to making our community a better place, we cannot legally donate beer. If you are properly licensed we can sell it to you at our wholesale price to be served or featured at your event. This will depend on inventory, staff availability (if needed), and your organization compliance with all state and federal laws (as we do). If you are unsure, please check here to see if you are in compliance with Wisconsin laws regarding serving alcohol at your event. Please note, we also do not give monetary donations such as cash or gift cards. If you would like consideration for a donation of anything other than cash/gift cards or beer, please fill out the form here. If you would like to host an event in our space or work together on an event, please email and tell us about your organization/cause and what you are looking for.
If you have any questions that were not answered in this section, please message us through social media or through the website. We look forward to your visit and sharing our beer with you. Cheers!
